FOG BOX

Part performance part installation, FOG BOX stands as a monument to nightclub culture, a beacon to hedonism and an ode to the sweat-infused creatures who occupy the dancefloor. A see-through box becomes opaque as it fills with smoke, shrouding an otherworldly figure who resonates and pulsates with the techno surroundings. Landing from a different place or a slip in time, this ethereal work is the second piece by Ryan investigating the materiality of fog and its presence within nightlife culture.

FOG BOX is part installation, part performance. The performance is therefore very adaptable and can fit within a variety of contexts. So far, the work is still in progress but has been presented at a nightclub setting. The logistics of such are outlined below.
