Part Installation, part performance.

Two see-through boxes stand a few meters apart. With performers inside, these transparent boxes slowly fill with smoke creating a dense, opaque monument. As the performers slowly move, a mesmeric visual feast unfolds: a hand with no body, a headless torso, a foot appearing where a face should be. The performer’s limbs would emerge - and then submerge back into the fog creating an in-between state; fragments of the performer constantly appearing, disappearing.

A projection illuminates the boxes, heightening the aesthetic wonder of the project. The performance lasts between 10-20 minutes and then the boxes remain on their own slowly filling and (un)filling with fog. The see-through perspex material contains the fog, displaying it - in a museum-like container, the fog as an exhibit. The free-wheeling material, enclosed and trapped but still moving.

So far FOG BOX has been presented at INTONAL festival, Malmö and YPNOTICA, Amsterdam in nightclub settings however the boxes could work in a myriad of different locations: A Street, a Forest, a Gallery…
